GIS/LIS Scholarship
Purpose
The purpose of the award is to encourage and recognize college students who are pursuing a program of study in Geographic Information Systems, prividing support to enter the professional field of Geographic Information Systems where they can use the knowledge of their discipline to excel in their profession.
Eligibility
Full time junior, senior, or graduate-level students currently enrolled at an accredited College or University in Nebraska who are actively pursuing a declared program of study in preparation for entering the profession in the general area of mapping, remote sensing, geodeditc sciences, or geospatial information and technology.
Award
The award consists of a one-year Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 cash ($500/semester), a certificate, one term of Association Membership and registration to the Biennial Symposium, at which the award winner will be publically recognized.
