2012 Award Nominations Deadline
All nomination requirements must be submitted to the Association on or before March 25 of the year for which the Award will be made. i.e. award nominations for 2011 must be submitted by

Award Recipient Determinations
Evaluated based on criteria for each award and judged by a select sub-committee partly comprised of individuals working within the award realm, i.e. the Excellence in
GIS Education award selection committee will include education professionals who specialize in GIS.
- Excellence in GIS, created to highlight outstanding examples of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Excellence.
- GIS Contributions to the Community, created to highlight outstanding examples of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) contributions that have impacted community in a substantial way.
- Excellence in Coordination/Management, created to highlight outstanding examples of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Management and/or Coordination.
- Excellence in GIS Education, created to identify GIS educators who have established or furthered an exemplary GIS educational project, course or program within an educational setting in a private or public school, college or university in Nebraska.
- GIS Student Award, created to identify GIS students and or interns who have demonstrated excellence in GIS through innovative projects and or internships.
