    Thank you for visiting the Nebraska GIS/LIS website. The Association is a non-profit organization comprised of geospatial professionals from the public, private, and academic sectors. Our membership is predominately from Nebraska, but includes those from surrounding areas and even Canada. The organization is approaching 10 years of existence and currently has over 200 registered members. We hope you find this site useful for information regarding GIS and GIS education in Nebraska.

    On June 30th, 1998, an ad-hoc committee of GIS professionals held a meeting to discuss the formation of an organization for Nebraska GIS users. At the time, the Nebraska GIS Steering Committee felt it was limited in its authority to address certain issues in GIS.
